Fun on the slopes - with ski or snowboard
What a fantastic feeling! Tux is one level higher ... in the glittering white of the Ski & Glacier World Zillertal 3000. On the altitude of up to 3.250 metres above sea level, snow-white winter landscapes can be found in Tux, undisturbed and ready to explore.
One of Tux’ special attractions is the "Glacier Tour" – with 72 km of slopes and 15.000 metres of altitude change, it's a fascinating skiing challenge for a day trip!
Experience it too: 227 km of slopes, with 800 hectares of slope surface, and 59 lifts – with a transport capacity of 98.840 people per hour! All these factors offer a new and exciting experience in the snow – with no queues! Additionally, the Hintertux glacier guarantees snow from October to May, and the downhill slopes to Hintertux, Lanersbach and Vorderlanersbach make Tux one of the leading winter sports resorts of the Alps.
Guaranteed snow throughout the year, powder snow from October to of May, and slopes all the way down to the valley!
Cross-country skiing - skating
The region also boasts cross-country skiing tracks: 14 km of classical tracks (from Vorderlanersbach to Madseit) and 14 km of skating tracks in Juns/Madseit. The tracks are maintained by the tourist board and are open to use free of charge. Please note the direction of the tracks!
Off the slopes
Have you already tried out some of the numerous off-piste activities? The wonderful winter landscape invites you to explore the nature in white - whatever your taste - tobogganing or sledge riding.
The access to all the cabins is possible with taxis.
On the toboggan runs access traffic is possible - please note the toboggan times!
Ice skating - curling
Experience "Fun on Ice" on the large natural ice centres in Lanersbach! Whether you want to risk racing around on speed skates or just watch your kids turning pirouettes, everyone finds what he wants.
Big or small - there's something here for everyone! Traditional curling assures amusing times and much variety away from the slopes.
There are 4 ice rinks in Lanersbach as well as 2 ice rinks for fun action with "tee and stick" in competitive and target curling. Good fun at the ice rinks either during the day or in the evening - alone, in pairs or as a group. Gentle hint: there's no shortage of scope.
Winter hiking trails
There are 68 kilometres of winter hiking trails which are cleared and gritted. The winter hiking trails to the Eggalm, to the Penken or the Sommerberg are a challenge – you will be rewarded by ancient traditional mountain huts and panorama restaurants with Ziller Valley specialities. If you prefer to enjoy the wonderful views without so much effort, take the cable cars up to the mountain stations. Hiking is a movement training. Muscles, tendons and ligaments are exercised, your circulation gets going. More blood is pumped around the body.
